We run the video from players (Beta, Umatic, and VHS) through a Sony selector, which outputs to a) a monitor and b) the Canopus, then Firewire from the Canopus into the Mac laptop we're recording onto. I've never run into any problems with the Canopus in the six months I've been here. So there's my two cents' worth. Let me know if you have any other questions! Hey Aaron –
